Local health plan achievement demonstrates commitment to delivering access to high quality care.
SAN JOSÉ, Calif., March 13, 2025 -- Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) is proud to announce it has earned Full Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and Medicare programs.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes clinicians in key clinical areas. NCQA's HEDIS® is the most widely used performance measurement tool in health care. The NCQA website (https://www.ncqa.org/) contains information to help consumers, employers, and others make informed health care choices.

SCFHP successfully completed a rigorous First Survey for Medi-Cal and a Renewal Survey for its Medicare program to earn Accreditation for three years. SCFHP has been on its accreditation journey since 2017, when it first achieved Interim Accreditation for its Medicare plan. In 2024, SCFHP also achieved NCQA Health Equity Accreditation for both Medi-Cal and Medicare.
NCQA uses transparency, accountability, and other measurements to highlight top performers and improve health care. It requires health plans to undergo periodic surveys to maintain accreditation and measure and report annually on clinical performance outcomes and consumer experience (HEDIS® and CAHPS®).
