WASHINGTON and BOGOTA, Colombia, Feb. 6, 2025 -- ACON Investments ("ACON"), a middle market private equity investment firm based in Washington, D.C., announced today that it has completed the sale of its interest in Vitalis S.A.C.I. and its affiliates, ("Vitalis" or the "Company") to Laboratorios Sanfer, S.A. de C.V., a Mexican pharmaceutical firm and one of Latin America's largest players in the pharmaceutical space.
Vitalis is a Bogota, Colombia-based manufacturer and wholesaler of injectable pharmaceuticals used and distributed in hospitals, clinics and drug stores across Latin America. Since ACON´s acquisition of Vitalis in 2021, the Company has experienced significant growth illustrated by the expansion of its installed capacity as well as an upgrade of its manufacturing facilities to meet the highest quality environmental and social standards. The Company also broadened its product portfolio with over 700 registered products and strengthened its geographic footprint through the opening of new commercial channels across the region, including an acquisition in Chile. These initiatives positioned the Company as one of the largest suppliers of injectable pharmaceuticals in Latin America.

This transaction follows ACON's successful exits from Dorí Alimentos S.A. and Conexão Group, ACON portfolio investments in Brazilian companies, which were exited in 2023 and 2024, respectively. ACON has 29 years of experience in Latin America, where it has invested in 44 companies across 10 different countries, 30 of which have been sold to strategic or financial buyers.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. BTG Pactual acted as exclusive financial advisor to ACON. Brigard Urrutia, Galicia Abogados, Hogan Lovells, Carey Abogados, McCarthy Tetrault and Grant Thornton were transaction advisors to ACON.
