Veterans and Military Spouses Served by Purple Heart Foundation Invited to Launch Tech Careers with NPower

New partnership will open doors to high-demand tech careers for those who have served—and those who stand beside them

NEW YORK, May 1, 2025 -- NPower, a national nonprofit that provides free tech training and career development for veterans, transitioning military members, and young adults, has partnered with the Purple Heart Foundation to extend its career-building programs to the Foundation's community of veterans and military spouses.

Through the new collaboration, Purple Heart Foundation members are invited to enroll in NPower's Tech Fundamentals program -- an opportunity to gain industry-recognized certifications, hands-on IT experience, and personalized support -- to launch rewarding tech careers.

Veterans often face challenges transitioning into civilian careers, despite bringing valuable skills such as leadership, problem-solving, and discipline. Military spouses, who frequently experience career interruptions and high unemployment due to relocations, also often struggle to find stable, flexible employment. For those injured in the line of duty, the path to stable employment can be even more difficult. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping veterans and their families build brighter futures through tech careers.

"Our veterans have already proven their strength, sacrifice, and skill in service to our nation," said Stephen L. Ruckman, CEO of the Purple Heart Foundation. "Through our partnership with NPower, we're helping those we serve start tech careers that offer purpose, stability, and long-term growth."

Purple Heart Foundation members can earn CompTIA A+ and Tech+ and a Google IT Support certifications through NPower's Tech Fundamentals program. The program also offers real-world experience through an IT Generalist Apprenticeship, career coaching, mentoring, and job placement assistance with military-friendly employers.

"Veterans and military spouses are resilient, adaptable, and ready to lead in the tech sector," said Bertina Ceccarelli, CEO of NPower. "Together with the Purple Heart Foundation, we're opening doors to rewarding careers that not only honor their service but also build brighter futures."

Veterans and military-connected individuals interested in applying to NPower's Tech Fundamentals program can apply at npower.org/apply.
