Forbes once again recognizes Wisconsin-based mutual insurer
STEVENS POINT, Wis., Feb. 25, 2025 -- Sentry Insurance continues to be recognized as a workplace leader, earning a repeat designation from Forbes as one of America's Best Midsize Employers.
In partnership with analytics firm Statista, Forbes selected this year's honorees based on an independent survey of 217,000 workers across the country. Employees rated their companies on key factors such as work environment, growth opportunities, and diversity. Sentry is one of just 498 companies nationwide to earn a spot on the list, which recognizes employers with 1,000–5,000 employees.
This marks the sixth time Sentry has earned this recognition.
"Our employees make Sentry a great place to work," said Pete McPartland, Sentry's Chairman and CEO. "They've built and sustained a culture that puts people first—whether it's supporting our customers, communities, or each other. This recognition belongs to them."
"It's also a credit to the generations before us who laid the foundation for our success," he added. "Their dedication helped shape Sentry into the company it is today, and our employees continue that tradition by making thoughtful, customer-focused decisions every day."
A culture of strength and stability
Sentry, which has maintained an A+ (Superior) rating from AM Best for 33 consecutive years, saw strong performance across all categories in Forbes' evaluation. Employees rated the company highly for working conditions, career development opportunities, and diversity.
The survey included feedback from current and former employees, as well as industry professionals familiar with the company. High rankings in multiple areas reflect Sentry's strong reputation within the insurance industry.
Founded in 1904, Sentry is headquartered in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and employs more than 6,000 people across the country. The company qualified for the Forbes midsize employer category at the time of the survey but has since grown following its acquisition of The General in January 2025.
