Semperis Opens Call for Papers for HIP Conf 25 in Charleston, SC, October 7-9

Acclaimed conference unites world's preeminent experts in Active Directory, Entra ID, and Okta security

HOBOKEN, N.J., April 2, 2025 -- Semperis, a leader in AI-powered identity security and cyber resilience, today announced the call for papers for its annual Hybrid Identity Protection Conference (HIP Conf), taking place October 7-9 in Charleston, SC, at The Charleston Place, an iconic landmark in the heart of the city.

HIP Conf 25 unites the leading experts in Active Directory (AD), Entra ID, and Okta security. These specialists, who operate at the intersection of identity and security, will deliver technical presentations, participate in panel discussions, and network with attendees. The deadline for submissions is April 25.

"The growing adoption of hybrid identity architectures and Microsoft's cloud-based Entra ID has intensified the challenges organizations face securing legacy and modern identity systems," said Mickey Bresman, Semperis CEO. "With 90 percent of identity systems compromised during ransomware attacks, now is the time for organizations to improve their operational resilience and better secure their hybrid identities. Since founding HIP Conf in 2017, identity systems have become the new security perimeter, making every aspect of an organization's digital existence existentially dependent on its identity system, most often Active Directory."

HIP Conf 25 will spotlight the most critical and emerging topics in identity security, including Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), securing machine identities, Identity Forensics and Incident Response (IFIR), implementing Zero Trust architectures, the role of AI, and more.

Unlike broader cybersecurity conferences, HIP Conf is purpose-built for practitioners managing and defending hybrid identity environments — making it a must-attend for identity-first defenders. Last year's event drew more than 400 identity-focused practitioners from enterprises and government agencies.

Past HIP Conf speakers include cybersecurity industry thought leaders such as:

  • General David Petraeus (Ret.), former CIA Director and partner at KKR
  • Chris Inglis, former U.S. National Cyber Director
  • Alex Weinert, former VP of Identity Security, Microsoft
  • Andy Greenberg, Senior Writer, Wired
  • Simon Hodgkinson, former CISO, bp
  • Pamela Dingle, Director of Identity Standards, Microsoft
  • Sean Metcalf, Identity Architect, TrustedSec

"When Active Directory and other identity systems are compromised, the foundations of a business dependent on them are at unacceptable risk," said Chris Inglis, Semperis Strategic Advisor and first U.S. National Cybersecurity Director. "You cannot simply bolt on identity security, because it is core to business operations and critical to sustaining defense against sophisticated and motivated nation-state backed threat groups. Like business resilience, identity resilience must be addressed at the core."

From managing human and non-human identities to detecting lateral movement and ensuring rapid recovery post-breach, HIP Conf 25 will deliver deep technical insights into securing the identity layer at every stage of the cyber kill chain.

Abstracts should be 200–300 words and geared toward a technical practitioner audience. Both returning and first-time speakers are encouraged to apply. To submit a speaking abstract for HIP Conf 25, visit: http://www.cvent.com/c/abstracts/bc61d7d8-0247-462b-8ba7-8f370be303c7
