NEW YORK, Feb. 6, 2025 -- Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has joined Ramp as an investor and star of the company's first Super Bowl ad. In addition to being one of the fastest running backs of all time, Barkley is a student of business and technology. Ramp is his largest private technology investment.
"I've always believed a winning mindset applies to every part of life. If you want to dominate, you don't switch off when the clock hits zero and I demand that same intensity in my business ventures," said Saquon Barkley. "Ramp shares my obsession with speed and efficiency, helping teams move faster, spend smarter, and stay a step ahead of the competition. They're a partner I want in my corner."
Becoming a Ramp Investor
Barkley has had a long fascination with high-growth startups that redefine industries after reading Zero to One years ago. When strong Ramp recommendations came through mutual investor connections, he knew he wanted more than just a traditional endorsement deal.
Barkley approached this decision with a deep sense of responsibility, determined to ensure it met the same standard of excellence that he set for himself in his football career.
"True partnership requires skin in the game," said Barkley. "That's why I invested in Ramp. I saw firsthand how they're powering American businesses to cut costs and achieve a higher level of performance. That's the kind of impact I want to be part of."
"Seeing Saquon put his team's playoff run ahead of an individual all-time rushing record was a masterclass in leadership," added Eric Glyman, CEO and Co-Founder of Ramp. "Ramp lives by the same playbook. We put our customers' long-term success first, helping them spend less – even if that sometimes comes at the cost of our own short-term profit. It's this long-term orientation that's led us to grow faster than nearly anyone while delivering over $2 billion in savings for our customers. Our shared commitment to long-term value creation made Saquon a natural partner. We're both in it for the long game."
Starring in Ramp's Super Bowl Ad
Sunday will mark a double milestone for Barkley: his Super Bowl debut and his 28th birthday. In less than a week, Ramp and Barkley pulled together the brand's first Super Bowl ad.
It was the same speedy approach that both Barkley and Ramp are known for. While Barkley has broken records for combined rushing and receiving yards, Ramp has emerged as one of the fastest growing startups by shipping products at super-sonic speed.
The ad shows Saquon buried in a mountain of expense reports instead of doing what he does best – playing football. The scene is reminiscent of The Office and is purposefully absurd. No one wants Saquon spending time doing expenses. The same goes for teams – they were hired for their talents, not to waste time on financial busywork. That's where Ramp comes in, allowing teams to focus on what matters.
"One week is a crazy timeline to attempt a Super Bowl ad from start to finish," said Diego Zaks, Vice President of Design at Ramp. "We're lucky in that we have an amazing team of creatives, a culture where makers can make decisions fast, and we're working with Saquon, the fastest running back out there – so we knew we had a chance to pull it off."
Ramp's ad, directed by Mohammad Gorjestani and produced by Even/Odd, was shot in Philadelphia and can be viewed here.
