Over 4,200 Join Bangladesh Investment Summit From Across The World, Showcasing Dhaka's Global Investor Momentum

DHAKA, Bangladesh, April 28, 2025 -- The Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 concluded with resounding success, welcoming over 4,200 participants over four days of high-level discussions, strategic networking, and significant investment commitments. Inaugurated on April 9 by the Hon'ble Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, H.E. Professor Muhammad Yunus, the summit drew 710 inaugural attendees—including 415 foreign and non-resident Bangladeshi (NRB) participants—highlighting growing global interest in Bangladesh's evolving investment landscape. Co-organized by BIDA and BEZA with support from UNDP, the World Bank, and FICCI, the summit featured more than 130 expert panelists and drew over 3,500 participants to breakout sessions, roundtables, and networking events. A key highlight was the facilitation of over 150 B2G meetings, fostering direct engagement between investors and senior government officials including the Commerce Adviser, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and NBR Chairman. Moreover, over 100 guests also visited the economic zones to view the on-ground facilities and infrastructure.

Two landmark MoUs were signed, securing $260 million in investments from Handa Industry and ShopUp. Six additional strategic agreements were also inked, covering sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable trade, agritech, and responsible business practices. Notable collaborations included:

  • Bangladesh joining the NASA Artemis Accords
  • Power purchase agreement between PRAN and H&M Group (backed by IFC)
  • ILO-UNDP-BIDA partnership on responsible business conduct
  • Solar Power Europe–BSREA cooperation on renewable energy
  • Bangladesh Seed Association–Seed Netherland collaboration
  • Greenhouse Impact Cluster between Dutch Greenhouse Delta and ACI

Cultural engagement was also central to the summit. A special evening titled 'Bangladesh Through a Different Lens', co-hosted with the Ministry of Culture, celebrated the nation's rich heritage and artistic diversity.

Speaking at the inauguration, H.E. Professor Yunus said, "Bangladesh is a country with crazy ideas to change the world. We invite you to join us not only to change Bangladesh by your business but to change the world."

BIDA & BEZA Executive Chairman (State Minister) Ashik Chowdhury added, "Bangladesh stands at the threshold of an economic renaissance. This summit is an invitation to the world to be part of our journey toward inclusive and sustainable prosperity."

Partners such as the EU, Dutch Embassy, UNDP, BGMEA, HSBC, Citi NA, Sajida Foundation, LightCastle Partners, Inspira, and EBL helped drive the summit's dynamic and wide-ranging dialogue.
