Vendor-independent platform unifies AI discovery, security, governance, and cost management across employee AI applications and agents
ASHBURN, Va., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- OmniTrust today announced the launch of OmniTrust Halo, an AI governance platform that helps organizations put AI to work with clear policies, practical safeguards, and control over spending.
The platform brings together AI discovery, security, governance, and cost management across employee devices, browsers, AI models, business tools, and agents. Vendor-independent by design, Halo allows organizations to retain their preferred AI applications, models, tools, and infrastructure while applying consistent governance across supported environments.
Employees are using AI in browser tabs, desktop assistants, and coding tools, while AI agents are increasingly taking on tasks within business systems. Leaders need visibility into which tools are in use, what information they can access and share, and who is responsible for their actions. They also need the ability to monitor and manage AI spending.
"We want to help organizations extract real value from AI while retaining control of their data, their systems, and their spending," said Jonathan Mulieri, SVP, AI Lifecycle Management at OmniTrust. "Teams should be able to use the tools that help them do their jobs. Our focus with Halo is to make that practical, with clear rules, controls that act on those rules, and a record of what happened."
One Platform to Discover, Govern, and Optimize AI
Organizations can start with AI discovery and governance, adopt Halo's model and Model Context Protocol (MCP) gateways for secure AI access, or deploy and operate governed agents. Customers can expand their use of the platform as their needs evolve.
Discover the AI in use. Halo Browser and Halo Endpoint identify AI tools across supported browsers and employee devices, including applications adopted outside traditional IT approval processes. The resulting inventory helps teams build an AI Bill of Materials (AI BOM), understand their exposure, and determine where action is needed. Organizations can configure what discovery data is collected and how long it is retained to align with their privacy and governance requirements.
Secure AI as it is used. The platform can restrict unapproved AI applications and help protect sensitive information on supported sites and gateway connections. Agents running on OmniTrust Halo operate in isolated environments with limited access to business systems. Administrators can review security controls and suspend agents when needed.
Govern with evidence. Organizations can establish policies governing what AI is allowed to access and do, test proposed changes before enforcement, and require human approval for selected higher-impact actions. The platform records policy decisions, approvals, and activity, enabling security, compliance, and business teams to review AI activity and support audits.
Optimize AI spend. Budgets at the organizational, individual user, and agent levels can trigger alerts, pause new work, or stop running agents when limits are reached. Spending reports provide visibility into costs, while smart model routing through Halo Auto selects from a curated set of models for each request, which can help reduce costs for routine tasks.
Governed Access to AI Models and Business Tools
OmniTrust Halo's model gateway and MCP gateway provide centralized control over access to AI models and connections to business tools. These gateways enforce policies, manage permissions, and track usage while keeping sensitive access credentials out of agents. Gateway capabilities can be adopted independently of endpoint discovery and support bring-your-own-key (BYOK) options for supported model providers.
Through Halo Endpoint, the gateways integrate with Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex, including desktop assistants and coding tools. Employees can continue working in familiar applications while the organization maintains oversight of access, spending, and activity.
A Distinct Identity for Every Agent
Each agent running on OmniTrust Halo has its own identity and defined permissions, separate from the person who created it. Teams can deploy agents with policies, approvals, and budgets in place and connect them to approved business applications. Organizations can also choose an optional integration with OmniTrust's Identity Lifecycle Management (ILM) and PKI platform for agent identity and credential management.
Building on the Launch
Additional capabilities in development include a central register of AI systems and their owners, support for applying regulatory and risk management frameworks, and a governance assistant that translates plain-language requests into draft policies for human review.
