TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NuvoLinQ today launched NuvoAutoLinQ™, a proprietary technology that configures the cellular settings on devices powered by a LinQ1Zero SIM automatically. Whenever a LinQ1Zero SIM activates or changes carrier profile, NuvoAutoLinQ identifies the APN that profile needs and sets it on the device. Devices connect on first power-up and stay connected after every network change, with no pre-configuration, no kitting and no technician typing settings into a terminal.
A wrong APN, the setting that tells a device which network gateway to use, is one of the most common reasons connected devices fail to come online. The device shows full signal but goes nowhere. Industry standards let carriers push these settings to a device's modem, but many modems, especially in purpose-built hardware like payment terminals, don't follow those standards fully. The settings don't take, and someone ends up entering APN strings by hand. Across thousands of devices, several hardware models and more than one carrier, mistakes are easy to make and slow to find.
NuvoAutoLinQ also keeps those settings right for the life of the device. LinQ1Zero already detects when data has stopped getting through, not just when signal drops, and switches to a global backup profile with access to more than 350 operator networks. When that happens, or when a customer moves a device to a new carrier, NuvoAutoLinQ applies the matching APN for the new profile. Data keeps flowing without a server command, a site visit or a firmware change, ensuring "always on" connectivity.
"A connected payment terminal is only as reliable as the settings on its critical programming," said Maurizio Tersigni, Founder and CEO of NuvoLinQ. "For years those settings were set by hand before a device ever shipped, and when they were wrong, the device didn't connect. NuvoAutoLinQ moves that work into the SIM itself. Our customers deploy a device, and it finds its network and configures itself. It takes us a major step further toward the Always On connectivity and frictionless deployment we promise every customer."
With NuvoAutoLinQ, LinQ1Zero customers get:
- Connection on first power-up. The correct APN is set automatically, including on hardware whose modem won't accept carrier settings.
- No field configuration. No pre-configuring devices, kitting SIMs or sending a technician to key in settings.
- Settings that can't drift. Configuration is enforced from the SIM, so it holds across profile switches and can't be changed locally by accident.
- Automatic correction. Error detection identifies misconfigured devices and corrects the required APN and communications configurations.
- A longer list of deployable devices. Models that were too awkward to configure reliably can now join the fleet.
NuvoAutoLinQ is available in two editions. The eUICC Edition is a NuvoLinQ applet that runs on the LinQ1Zero eUICC SIM using carrier privileges. It works independently of the device operating system and sets the APN on any device whose modem follows the 3GPP standard. The Android Edition covers the modems that don't. A companion application, recognized and trusted by the LinQ1Zero eUICC, configures APNs at the operating-system level on devices running Android 7 and later. NuvoLinQ is working with device manufacturers to install NuvoAutoLinQ at the factory, so devices arrive ready to connect.
"Plenty of modems in purpose-built hardware don't follow the standards for receiving carrier settings, and that's where rollouts stall," said Jay Deen, CTO of NuvoLinQ. "With NuvoAutoLinQ, the SIM handles it. Where the modem won't cooperate, the SIM vouches for an app on the device that will. Our engineering team designed and built it entirely in-house."
