SALT LAKE CITY, May 14, 2025 -- Neumont College of Computer Science today announced the official launch of its new Cybersecurity & Data Protection Certificate, a fast-paced, 20-week online program designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in cybersecurity and IT.

The program is built around hands-on learning and includes training for sone of the most in-demand certifications in the industry: CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+ and CySA+. Students earn 32 college credits upon completion and gain practical experience with industry-standard tools like Wireshark, Kali Linux, Metasploit, and AWS.
In addition, students who complete the full sequence of certifications will earn CompTIA's stackable credentials, which validate progressively deeper mastery of IT and cybersecurity skills:
- IT Operations Specialist (CIOS) – awarded for completing A+ and Network+
- Secure Infrastructure Specialist (CSIS) – awarded for completing A+, Network+, and Security+
- Security Analytics Professional (CSAP) – awarded for completing Security+ and CySA+
These layered credentials help students stand out to employers and demonstrate a clear career progression in IT and cybersecurity.
"This is more than just a bootcamp," said President Aaron Reed of Neumont College. "It's an accredited, credit-bearing pathway for adults, and career changers who are ready to jump into one of the most essential fields in today's digital economy."
The certificate is offered 100% online and asynchronously, making it accessible for working professionals, veterans transitioning to civilian careers, and students across the Mountain West and beyond. The program is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Federal financial aid, and veterans' education benefits are available for eligible individuals.
"Cybersecurity isn't a future need—it's a now need," said Mo Reeder, VP of Strategic Partnerships. "This program was developed in close conversation with our employer partners, who are eager for graduates with practical skills and professional readiness."
Tuition for the program is $21,000 and includes full access to career support, resume coaching, and job placement services through Neumont's Career Services team. The college is currently accepting applications for upcoming cohorts.
