NCMA Welcomes Jennifer Covington as Vice President of Learning & Development

RESTON, Va., March 17, 2025 -- The National Contract Management Association (NCMA) is excited to announce Jennifer Covington as its new Vice President of Learning & Development. This strategic appointment underscores NCMA's commitment to advancing professional development opportunities and delivering premier events for the contract management community.

In her role, she will lead the development of innovative learning programs, expand NCMA's delivery and distribution of educational offerings, and enhance the impact of the association's flagship events. With more than 20 years of event management and adult education experience, and a decade of professional association leadership, she brings deep expertise in learning, conference strategy, and engagement.

"As NCMA continues to expand its ability to support the careers of those in our community, Jennifer's experience and vision will be instrumental in shaping the future of NCMA's learning offerings and experiences," said Brian Weiss, Chief Operating Officer of NCMA. "Her leadership in educational programming and event strategy will accelerate NCMA's ability to positively impact the careers of those we serve."

Ms. Covington joins NCMA from The American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), where she played a key role in developing educational programs, conferences, and member engagement initiatives. Prior to ASPB, she served as Director of Events at the Risk Management Association (RMA), overseeing in-person and virtual events, as well as sponsorship programs. She has also led global events and professional development initiatives at the Project Management Institute and has designed high-impact learning experiences for Fortune 500 companies including Meta, Procter & Gamble, and UPS.

She holds an MBA from Eastern University in Radnor, PA and a BA in Hospitality Management from The Pennsylvania State University. She resides in the Philadelphia area with her husband and two sons.

Ms. Covington joins NCMA at a pivotal time as the association prepares for a brand-new NCMA event, Emerge this May, World Congress 2025 in July, and NCMA Nexus 2026 in Atlanta. These premier gatherings are designed to empower and connect contract management and acquisition professionals across industries.
