A recent Harvard Business Review Analytic Services survey of 162 finance function managers and executives reveals pronounced tensions between finance executives’ aspirations and the way they do their day-to-day work.
A full 88% of finance executives, for example, say that instilling a culture of data-driven decision making is critical (a 4 or 5 on a 5-point scale) to the finance team’s future performance. But just 55% say that fostering such a culture is a high priority for finance teams’ leadership today.
