Comedian Nate Bargatze stars in first-ever brand campaign with DoorDash to promote DashPass membership
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 3, 2025 -- Today, DoorDash is kicking off its Big Game campaign for DashPass, DoorDash's membership program that offers the most affordable way to order on DoorDash, with Grammy-nominated and the no. 1 touring comedian of 2024, Nate Bargatze. The multi-layered campaign, which introduces a new campaign platform for DashPass titled "Give Yourself A Pass," leverages Bargatze's comedic wit to remind viewers just how much value you could get with every DashPass-eligible order. DoorDash will air the 30-second ad during football's season finale on February 9.
"When we first launched DashPass in 2018, our mission was clear: offer consumers a membership with unbeatable value and savings," said Kofi Amoo-Gottfried, CMO at DoorDash. "As we return to the Big Game for the fourth time, we're proud to say that mission remains unchanged as we bring even more value to members today. Our campaign spotlights how DashPass continues to be your all-access pass to more of what you love, helping you save on every eligible order."
Inspired by the cultural phenomenon "girl math," the 15-second teaser features Bargatze's inner dialogue as he calculates all his savings from DashPass. The campaign kicks off with content from the original "girl math" creator, additional teasers, social engagement and much more to show how DashPass always has your back.
While Bargatze's whims and fancies don't show up on your typical shopping list, DashPass members can expect high-value perks. In fact, DashPass members save $5 per eligible order on average, and have saved over $10 billion globally since the launch of DashPass in 2018. With exclusive perks like $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders, as well as streaming Max with Ads and rideshare benefits with Lyft, DashPass is the most affordable way to order on DoorDash.
"I'd already been using DoorDash a lot for a pretty long time," said comedian Nate Bargatze. "So when they reached out to me to do a spot for DashPass I didn't have to think about it much. I already believed in them as a company, sometimes more than once a day if you know what I mean."
