ANAHEIM, Calif., March 20, 2025 -- Centaurus Financial, Inc. has been recognized as one of the top 10 U.S. independent broker/dealers with the highest percentage of female registered representatives, according to financial industry news service Financial Planning. On its 2024 list of independent broker/dealer "Elites," Financial Planning ranked Centaurus as tied for No. 6, with 21% of its registered representatives being female.
Vickie Intriago, CFP®, of Torrance, California, is a member of that 21 percent. One of the reasons she's thrilled about being a Centaurus representative is the annual workshops put on by the broker/dealer.
In the spring, the BDD Quantum Leap Workshop, sponsored by Brokerage Design & Development, brings together representatives to learn from one another. Attending the workshops – Intriago has been at every one since joining the firm in 2017 – is a key to her business growth and competency, she said.
Michelle Anthony, representative from Tucson, Arizona, who's been with Centaurus since 2014, also appreciates the workshops and other conferences put on by the firm. "Centaurus offers many different educational training opportunities and programs," she said. "Before I joined Centaurus, I was not a fan of conferences, because most conferences were all about the company." Centaurus's conferences, she said, "are all about YOU, the representative. They care about you. It's about networking and about learning from others."
At Centaurus, she adds, "You have this amazing support system. It's a support system that I've never felt or enjoyed anywhere else."
Centaurus encourages its representatives to support one another and network with each other. Several of the female representatives have taken networking a step further, creating a group that meets online monthly via Zoom.
Intriago was instrumental in starting the Centaurus Women's Virtual Advisor Group. "The virtual format allows advisors from coast to coast to connect and share valuable insights," she said. "Success stories are a cornerstone of the group, as members celebrate each other's achievements and learn from shared experiences."
Although the financial services industry has long been dominated by men, firms like Centaurus – which consistently is in the top 10 of firms with the most female representatives – are making a big difference.
