New Series Features Candid Conversations with Advisors Discussing What Drives Their Success
NEW YORK, March 27, 2025 -- Betterment Advisor Solutions (BAS), the leading, all-in-one custodian for modern RIAs, has unveiled a new series, Advisor Exchange, providing industry insights, inspiration, and practical advice from independent advisors.
New episodes of Advisor Exchange will air every other month for the remainder of the year, featuring honest conversations with advisors about how they run their business, and the important lessons they've picked up along their professional journeys. The host and moderator is Thomas Moore, Head of Betterment Advisor Solutions.

In the inaugural episode, "Letting Your Niche Find You," which premiered on March 19, 2025, Mr. Moore interviewed Eric Rodriguez, CFP®, a former professional soccer player who went on to become a financial advisor specializing in life-centric planning. Mr. Rodriguez is the Founder of WealthBuilders, LLC, where he helps protect and grow clients' wealth.
Although a talented soccer player who was recruited to play professionally after graduating from San Jose State University, he was aware of the potential pitfalls that could await him if he made poor financial decisions. And he understood a soccer career couldn't last forever.
As a financial advisor, Mr. Rodriguez focuses on empowering people to take control of their financial lives. However, he explained during the webinar that his identity as a business owner and entrepreneur is key, as he wants to help as many people as possible and continue to grow alongside them. Mr. Rodriguez also reflected on his own organic growth, a challenge for many small firms, and how he has achieved that in addition to finding his niche in the retirement planning space.
When asked by Mr. Moore how he differentiates himself and his firm from other RIAs, Mr. Rodriguez responded: "I always lead with a financial plan first, because no matter what, I want to make sure we are taking a holistic approach that puts clients first and increases their sense of well-being and life satisfaction."
