EAST MEADOW, N.Y., April 7, 2025 -- LuminoCity Festival (LuminoCity) and the Long Island Children's Museum (LICM) are pleased to announce the fifth annual "Lumi's Utopia," an enriching children's drawing competition and series of interactive workshops championing young artists across Long Island.
Participating children will embark on this one-of-a-kind light-art collaboration through educator-led hands-on workshops introducing them to the rich history of the lantern making process.
"We are thrilled to continue this collaborative enterprise with our friends at the Long Island Children's Museum," said LuminoCity CEO and Founder Xiaoyi Chen. "Firing the imaginations of young artists in the Long Island community via the rich tradition and fine art of lantern making; the captivating light art displays born from this competition have become a centerpiece and crowd favorite of our Holiday Light Festivals. We're humbled that our Holiday Lights Festival has become a tradition of its own for so many Long Island families, and the children's artworks inspired by this competition are a vital part of that experience."
Tickets for the LICM workshops are free and will be held April 14th and April 18th, 2025.

"Children will design 2D artwork inspired by the theme 'Fantasy Winter Fairyland.' Selected pieces will be brought to life as stunning 3D lanterns, which will be prominently displayed at Eisenhower Park. This collaboration invites our visitors to see their imaginations take shape, from initial drawings to larger-than-life creations that will light up the Winter Festival and bring wonder and joy to the entire community."
