SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Above Security (Above), the AI-native managed insider threat platform, announced today it has joined the Microsoft for Startups Pegasus Program, an invite-only program that helps select B2B startups sell faster by connecting them with Microsoft's global network of customers.

Above Security

Security teams are already stretched thin, and AI is adding to the load both internally and externally. According to ISACA, over half (59%) of digital trust professionals ranked AI-driven cyber threats and deepfakes as their top concern for 2026. For 41%, the biggest professional challenge is simply keeping pace with AI-driven change.

Many teams have built their data protection programs on Microsoft. Above will use the Pegasus Program to continue its mission to democratize elite insider risk management, putting the kind of investigative capability once reserved for intelligence agencies and the world's largest companies within reach of every enterprise. It builds on the protection Purview already provides: when Purview flags sensitive data on the move, Above adds the human context around it, including who's involved, whether the activity fits their role, what else was happening around it, and what the right next step is.

Above's fleet of AI investigative agents works alongside the Microsoft product suite in three ways:

  • Above prioritizes the risks that Purview flags. Once connected, Above continuously imports Microsoft Purview data loss prevention alerts and the customer's sensitivity label catalog, endpoint signals such as USB transfers and printing from Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, identity and role context from Microsoft Entra ID, and activity from Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Above turns alerts into investigations. Related signals come together in a single timeline, alongside browser, SaaS, and HR context. Above's agents reason over that timeline and deliver an investigation: what happened, why it matters, and the recommended next step for security, HR, and legal teams.
  • Above drafts new Purview policies tailored to each organization. From any confirmed incident, Above drafts a matching Microsoft Purview DLP policy. Once the customer's administrator approves it, the policy is created in their own tenant, in test mode or set to block. Enforcement stays in Purview so teams can continue the workflows already present today.

The same approach extends to AI adoption. Above helps organizations roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot with confidence. Above reads the sensitivity labels on the files, emails, and meetings Copilot draws on. If labeled content surfaced through Copilot later leaves the company, the security team already has the context to understand why.

"Purview knows the data. Above knows the context. That's why the two are better together," said Aviv Nahum, Co-founder and CEO, Above Security. "Security teams are already stretched, and the last thing they need is another tool that creates more work. We build on the signals they already run through Microsoft, add the human context around them, and share what we learn back into Purview as a new policy. We're reimagining what an insider risk program can do, and Pegasus puts that in front of the security leaders who need it most."

Above joins Pegasus following its $50 million funding round led by Ballistic Ventures, Merlin Ventures, and Norwest, and a strategic investment from CrowdStrike's Falcon Fund.

About Above Security
Above Security is a managed insider risk protection service powered by a fleet of autonomous AI investigators, bringing elite insider risk management within reach of every enterprise. Instead of adding to the alert queue, Above works with the security tools a team already runs, connecting signals across identities, SaaS, endpoints, and AI agents to understand context and surface insider risk before incidents occur. Above's AI agents work like a 24/7 insider risk team alongside the security team: they reason over related signals as they arrive and assemble investigation-ready timelines that explain what happened, why it matters, and what to do next. When risk emerges, the platform offers real-time guidance that helps people make safer choices, flags emerging incidents early, and produces complete, defensible reports with recommended action plans for security, HR, and legal teams.
