Virid Launches marketAgility MCP Connector, Bringing AI-Powered Store Management to eCommerce Retailers

New integration lets Virid clients manage products, orders, customers, and promotions through natural language in AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible platforms.

RESTON, Va., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Virid, the Unified Commerce Solutions provider, today announced the launch of the marketAgility MCP Connector, a new integration that connects marketAgility stores to leading AI platforms.

Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for connecting AI assistants to business software, the marketAgility MCP Connector works with any AI platform that supports custom MCP connectors, including Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT. Clients can search products, orders, and customer data, and manage catalogs, inventory, and promotions through natural language requests instead of the admin dashboard. Retailers can work in whichever AI platform their team prefers, with no custom integration to build or maintain, and the connector stays useful as the AI landscape evolves.

How the marketAgility MCP Connector Works

Once connected, an AI assistant can search a store's products, orders, customers, shopping carts, categories, inventory, promotion codes, tax nexus records, and more. It can create or update most of these records, while orders, carts, and per-site inventory remain read-only. Users can make requests like "Find all products with SKUs starting with WDG that haven't been updated in the last 90 days" or "Create a new promotion code for 15% off, expiring at the end of the month," and review any proposed change before it's made.

Availability and Setup

The connector is available to all Virid clients with an active marketAgility store and a marketAgility account with API access. Setup takes only a few steps: add the marketAgility server URL in the AI platform's connector settings, then complete a standard marketAgility sign-in. No API tokens or technical configuration are required. Availability of custom connectors varies by AI platform and plan.

Data Privacy and Security

The connection uses OAuth 2.1, the industry-standard authorization flow. Users authenticate directly with marketAgility, not with the AI platform provider.
