ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Trustible, an AI governance platform and Public Benefit Corporation, today announced that Mass General Brigham, one of the largest integrated health care systems in the United States, has begun implementing Trustible's platform to support and enable consistent adherence to its existing AI governance process and responsible use framework for use cases across clinical, research and operational settings. Mass General Brigham will use the platform to support its Digital leaders in their current processes by structuring and tracking the intake of proposed AI use cases, supporting risk assessment and tiering, routing requests for appropriate review, documenting decisions, and maintaining a centralized inventory of reviewed and approved use cases in order to make informed and transparent governance decisions.
"Health systems have gotten good at deciding whether to approve an AI tool. The harder part is everything around that decision: how requests come in, how vendors get evaluated, how risks get fixed, and what happens six months after go-live, when nobody is sure who owns the numbers," said Gerald Kierce, CEO and Co-Founder of Trustible. "Mass General Brigham's teams have worked on these questions for years. Our part is to provide the governance infrastructure and help turn what we learn together into practices any health system can adopt."
The work with Mass General Brigham will also explore practical approaches to responsible AI governance in health care, informed by relevant guidance, including work from the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) Responsible AI Guide and its broader compliance obligations.
What the work will cover
- Governance by design. Most health systems still assess AI risk manually. Building on CHAI's risk categorization work, Trustible and Mass General Brigham will explore metrics and a more automated and repeatable methodology for evaluating AI vendors and use cases, both before approval and as vendors change their products.
- Post-deployment monitoring. A March 2026 report from the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Center for AI Standards and Innovation described monitoring of deployed AI systems as "a vast and fragmented space." Both organizations will examine which signals matter for which kinds of use cases, who owns each metric, and what thresholds should send a use case back for review.
- Shared learning through CHAI. Trustible participates in CHAI's Partner Program and has built CHAI's AI Governance Framework into its platform. Both organizations will look for opportunities to share findings with CHAI and the broader healthcare community.
Trustible's role
Trustible supports AI governance at the use-case level. Each use case has one record that follows it from intake through risk assessment, approval, compliance mapping and monitoring. Risk scoring draws on factual attributes of each use case, such as the data involved and the population affected, and reviewers can accept or override a score with a documented rationale. Control mappings let teams document a practice once and apply it across CHAI guidance, the NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001 and other frameworks. Trustible's AI Monitoring module connects to the evaluation tools health systems already run and turns their signals into governance decisions. It does not sit in the runtime path of AI tools or change model outputs.
"Using more robust tools can aid a more organized and structured approach that helps ensure that AI use cases are evaluated consistently and receive the appropriate level of review," said Rebecca Mishuris, MD, chief health information officer at Mass General Brigham. "Technology can support that process, enabling experienced AI leaders at healthcare systems to interpret risk and make informed governance decisions that adhere to responsible use framework at scale."
A public benefit commitment
As a Public Benefit Corporation, Trustible is legally required to weigh its stated public benefit alongside returns to shareholders. Practices developed through this agreement will be published openly and free of charge, the same way Trustible publishes its AI risk and mitigation taxonomies through its AI Governance Insights Center. Health systems can apply them whether or not they use Trustible.
