LeanTaaS Brings Ambient Intelligence to iQueue, Connecting the Care Environment with Healthcare Operations

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- LeanTaaS, the market leader in capacity management, staffing, and patient flow software and services for healthcare, today announced it is incorporating ambient intelligence into iQueue to capture and interpret signals from the care environment and connect them with healthcare operations. The first launch under this strategy, iQueue for Virtual Care, was introduced at the Transform Executive Summit, held in conjunction with Becker's CEO + CFO Roundtable. It brings continuous awareness across enrolled patient rooms to help teams recognize changes in patient activity, surface potential safety concerns early, and coordinate the right response.

LeanTaaS is the market leader in AI‑powered, cloud‑based capacity management, staffing, and patient‑flow software for healthcare.

Important operational context lives in care team interactions, patient activity, and the surrounding environment. Ambient intelligence expands what iQueue can sense by capturing signals the EHR and conventional systems may miss or receive much later. In virtual care, this expands and redefines the model beyond connecting patients and clinicians across distance. It extends awareness between encounters, like when a patient tries to stand without assistance, or hasn't been out of bed in many hours, and turns those signals into prioritized work and coordinated action through iQueue. This helps teams focus their time where it's needed most and know how to respond.

To accelerate this strategy, LeanTaaS acquired LookDeep Health, which brings computer vision monitoring technology evaluated in peer-reviewed research published in Frontiers in Imaging, an open technology platform, and experience deploying virtual care in health systems. Beyond virtual care, LeanTaaS plans to incorporate ambient intelligence into additional iQueue products and workflows in order to support capacity, patient flow, and care coordination.

"We are dedicated to advancing the operational sophistication of our health system partners to match their clinical brilliance. Computer vision is the next phase of iQueue becoming the central nervous system of the hospital so the front line can sense, understand, act, and learn from every decision," said Mohan Giridharadas, founder and CEO of LeanTaaS.

iQueue for Virtual Care brings together three offerings, all powered by ambient intelligence:

  • Virtual Observation: Combines continuous AI monitoring across enrolled patient rooms with tools that help observation teams support more patients, recognize potential safety concerns, engage and redirect patients, and escalate to bedside staff.
  • Virtual Nursing: Extends nursing capacity through remote support for admissions, rounding, patient education and discharge preparation, prioritized by what is happening in each room, giving bedside nurses more time for hands-on care.
  • Virtual Medicine: Connects patients with remote physicians and specialists for consultations and clinical expertise, and gives clinicians insight into each patient between visits.

These offerings build on LookDeep's deployment experience in health systems. Reported results include reductions of more than 70% in fall rates, twice as much nursing contact, an 80% reduction in medication errors, and 3x cost savings compared to traditional virtual sitting solutions across different deployments and operating models.

To extend this support across more patient rooms, health systems can build on compatible cameras and in-room devices already in place or deploy supported hardware as needed. This open approach helps preserve existing investments while creating a foundation for new capabilities.

"The next leap in care is providing real support for the people inside the hospital," said Narinder Singh, senior vice president of ambient intelligence at LeanTaaS and former CEO and co-founder of LookDeep. "Nurses and physicians cannot be in every room at every moment, and too often technology has added to their work instead of taking it away. Ambient intelligence keeps watch when they can't be there, so staff finally feel the technology works for them, not the other way around. This is how we care for the people who care for the ones we love."
