VENICE, Calif., Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Haystack, the modern intranet platform that makes big companies feel smaller, today announced expansions to its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It now works in OpenAI's ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and Slack, joining Anthropic's Claude. And starting Monday, October 26, it adds write access on all four, so employees can create content as well as find it.
Haystack's MCP server launched in Claude in August. It is now available in ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and the Slack Marketplace. Ask a question on any of the four, and the answer comes from the intranet: current, approved, permission-aware, and linked to its source in Haystack. An admin connects Haystack in a few steps, and each employee signs in with their own Haystack account.
With write access, the people who build the intranet can do more than ask. Their AI assistant drafts a knowledge page and saves it as a private page for the person who asked. It can also write a post for any group the employee can publish to, then save it as a draft or publish it.
Because those assistants also connect to systems like Salesforce, a head of sales can turn the quarter's numbers into a company-wide digest in minutes. Every step respects the permissions of both the source system and Haystack.
"In August, we brought the intranet into Claude so employees could get answers without leaving their AI assistant," said Cameron Lindsay, founder and CEO of Haystack. "We said writing to it was next. Now it works in Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and Slack, and in each, people can both find company knowledge and publish it from the same single source of truth."
Haystack is SOC 2 Type 1 & 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliant, and every connection authenticates as the individual employee. An AI assistant sees only what that employee can see and publishes only where they can. Write access is optional, admins can block individual tools in their AI assistant, and no customer data is used to train AI models. Because MCP is an open standard, there's no lock-in to a single AI vendor.
The ChatGPT, Copilot, and Slack connectors are available now to Haystack customers, and write access opens on all four platforms October 26. Schedule a demo to see it in action.
