DALLAS, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Gate Sentry, a leader in mobile-first access control and visitor management solutions, today announced further expansion into commercial and industrial markets. Gate Sentry is expanding its customizable access control solutions for on-site security checkpoints, unstaffed entrances, and corporate lobbies. Facilities of any type can deploy customizable solutions to manage multiple entrances through a single platform, without investing in multiple hardware-heavy access control systems. The expansion includes the launch of Lobby Check-In and expanded Visitor Self-Registration capabilities that complement the hardware-free visitor management and self-access solutions already in place.
Proven in Residential and Hospitality
Gate Sentry, a subsidiary of Sentry Access, currently serves commercial clients, residential communities, private clubs, golf courses, and resorts across 31 states and 10 countries. Its software manages high-traffic entrances for vendor and contractor access and serves both on-site security checkpoints and unstaffed entrances. The company is now building on that experience to provide a single platform for staffed entrances, unstaffed entrances, and building lobbies, which commercial and industrial facilities have traditionally managed using separate systems requiring significant hardware and capital investments.
Built Around How Facilities Operate
Commercial and industrial facilities have different access requirements depending on their operations. Some manage heavy truck traffic at security checkpoints, while others need to track contractors, control employee access, or register visitors at a building lobby.
Gate Sentry spent several months working on-site with facilities in Texas, Wisconsin, and Indiana to understand these challenges firsthand. Some still relied on paper logs, manual check-ins, or outdated desktop-based systems, with no reliable record of when visitors or contractors left the property. Others faced traffic backups, difficulty verifying contractor hours for billing, outdated access permissions, and gaps in communication between security gates and front desks. All of them were using two different systems for lobby versus vehicle access management.
These findings helped shape Gate Sentry's mobile-first software designed to address the day-to-day challenges of commercial and industrial access control regardless of entry type.
Customizable Access Control Without Proprietary Hardware
Based on feedback from commercial and industrial facilities, Gate Sentry has enhanced its existing software and introduced new capabilities to meet their operational needs.
Gate Sentry's software can be configured around each facility's entrances, security requirements, and daily operations. Facilities can deploy individual solutions or manage multiple access points through one platform.
For entrances with on-site security, Gate Sentry provides tablet-based software that allows officers to check in drivers, contractors, and visitors, verify information, identify access restrictions, and maintain digital entry records. For unstaffed entrances, Sentry Solo replaces traditional keypads, callboxes, and kiosks with mobile-based access options.
New and expanded capabilities include:
- Lobby Check-In: A new solution that allows visitors to check in using a phone, tablet, or desktop computer without dedicated kiosk hardware. Facilities can customize registration forms, collect IDs and signed documents, manage group check-ins via QR code, and send automatic arrival notifications by phone, text, or email.
- Visitor Self-Registration: Introduced in August and now expanded for Lobby Check-In and Sentry Solo, this feature allows visitors to complete registration before arrival through a text link, submitting identification and required documents in advance.
- Entry and Exit Tracking: Digital records of visitor and contractor arrivals and departures, with searchable logs.
- Property Bans: Security teams receive alerts when restricted individuals, vendors, or vehicles attempt to check in. Administrators can restrict visitors or entire vendor companies, including associated license plates, across the property.
"Access control should fit the facility, not the other way around," said Michael Rendon, CEO of Gate Sentry. "Working directly with commercial and industrial operators showed us how much they were still relying on manual processes and expensive hardware. We're bringing the same approach that has worked in residential and hospitality to these facilities: flexible software that simplifies access management, streamlines security operations, and eliminates the need for unnecessary access hardware."
Gate Sentry's commercial access control solutions are available now for manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, and other secured commercial facilities. To learn more or request a demo, visit Gate Sentry.
