NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Conduktor, the operations platform for Apache Kafka®, today announced Conduktor Agents, a new set of AI agents within the existing Conduktor product Console that continuously monitor enterprise Kafka environments, identify emerging risks and recommend specific fixes for teams to review and approve.
Conduktor Agents are available now and will be demonstrated at Current San Francisco (booth #201).
Apache Kafka® powers the real-time data behind payments, e-commerce, logistics and growing numbers of AI applications around the globe. But at most large companies, a small platform team supports thousands of developers who rely on Kafka without being experts. Keeping it reliable, secure and affordable takes constant checks that no team has time for. Left alone, they turn into outages, unexpected costs and security gaps.
Conduktor Agents address this gap by embedding Conduktor's Kafka expertise directly into its Console platform. Running on a schedule or triggered by changes in the environment, the agents investigate issues the way a Kafka expert would, examining who owns and uses the affected resources, what they cost and what has recently changed. They then deliver their findings to the responsible team, along with supporting evidence and recommended fixes.
Conduktor Agents also introduce Ask Conduktor, a chat in Console that can respond to plain-language questions, from understanding infrastructure costs to identifying who can access sensitive data. These questions can then be turned into agent tasks that automatically repeat the same checks on a schedule or when conditions change.
Examples include:
- Security: understanding who has access to what, identifying excessive permissions, and recommending the right access controls as more teams build on Kafka
- Reliability: keeping Kafka pipelines healthy and changes safe, detecting potential issues early, investigating failures, and recommending recovery steps
- Governance: improving data visibility, ownership, and classification, including flagging personal data that isn't masked or encrypted yet, so teams can confidently discover and use Kafka data through self-service
- Cost: understanding how teams use Kafka, what's driving consumption and costs, and where resources can be optimized for greater efficiency
"We believe every developer should be able to build on real-time data without having to become a Kafka expert," said Nicolas Orban, co-founder and CEO of Conduktor. "For the past six years, we've helped enterprises operate and govern Kafka safely at scale. Today, we're building on that expertise to create the autonomy layer for streaming infrastructure, where AI agents reduce the need for specialized platform teams, while keeping them in control and giving developers and AI agents the freedom to build, operate, and innovate safely. Our ambition is simple: make streaming accessible to everyone, so companies can focus less on managing infrastructure and more on building what matters."
Because enterprises remain cautious about giving AI access to production systems, Conduktor designed its agents to keep teams firmly in control. Every agent starts in read-only mode, operates with its own identity and receives only the permissions required for its specific task. Agents cannot make changes without human approval unless a team explicitly chooses to automate a given task, and every action is fully traceable. Conduktor Agents support AI models from providers including OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as AWS Bedrock, while agent findings and activity history remain within the customer's Conduktor Console.
In internal benchmarks conducted in September 2026 on an environment of 1,830 Kafka topics, AI agents using Conduktor's tools answered 90% of questions correctly, compared with 13% for agents using raw Kafka tools, at roughly 1/170th of the cost per correct answer.
"The infrastructure behind real-time data carries a company's payments, orders and customer records, and teams now want AI agents to help run it," said Stéphane Derosiaux, co-founder and CPTO of Conduktor. "Running an autonomous agent on an engineer's credentials gives it far more access than its task needs, and no security team would knowingly accept that ." Each Conduktor agent gets its own identity, only the access its task requires, and a record of everything it does. That's how enterprises can let AI help run the systems their business depends on without adding risk.
Availability
Conduktor Agents are available now at no cost. Teams can deploy built-in tasks developed by Conduktor or create their own.
