Early-access offering combines CMG's practitioner-sourced deal data with natural-language querying to streamline complex ECM research and analysis

NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Markets Gateway (CMG), a fintech firm transforming the equity capital markets (ECM), today announced the early-access launch of its DataLab™ MCP server, enabling clients to integrate CMG's comprehensive ECM data directly into their existing AI-powered workflows. Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external data sources, the server allows clients to query CMG's ECM data using natural language to streamline research, uncover market insights and conduct complex analysis.

"We continuously enhance DataLab through close collaboration with ECM practitioners to address their evolving data and workflow needs," said Greg Ingram, CEO of CMG. "With the launch of our MCP server, select clients can now leverage CMG data within their preferred AI tools, making it easier to uncover insights and conduct complex analysis. We look forward to expanding access following this initial launch."

Practitioner-Sourced ECM Data Powers AI Workflows

As AI adoption accelerates across capital markets, ECM bankers and buy-side investment professionals are increasingly using AI assistants to support research, analysis and decision-making. However, generating meaningful insights requires access to timely, reliable and comprehensive deal data.

Drawing on CMG's extensive expertise working alongside ECM practitioners, the DataLab MCP server combines the firm's deep understanding of ECM data and workflows with the flexibility of AI-powered analysis. The server has been validated against a comprehensive set of real-world client questions to help ensure it addresses the complex research and analytical needs of ECM professionals.

Through the DataLab MCP server, clients can connect their AI tools to CMG's deal records spanning more than 50 regions and over 20 years of historical data. Coverage includes IPOs, follow-ons, blocks, accelerated bookbuilds (ABBs), at-the-market offerings (ATMs), convertible offerings, rights issuances, private investments in public equity (PIPEs) and registered direct offerings.

What Clients Can Do

By combining AI-powered analysis with CMG's comprehensive ECM data, professionals can answer complex market questions, identify relevant deal precedents and streamline research and analysis that traditionally require extensive manual workflows. Key capabilities include:

  • Gain deeper insights into market trends: Compare lock-up terms across offering types, sizes, and time periods to identify trends in staggered lock-up structures.
  • Search for specific deal precedents: Identify the 10 most recent technology follow-on offerings between $200 million and $500 million led by a particular bank and priced at a discount of less than 3%.
  • Perform complex market analysis: Analyze IPO aftermarket performance by month and year to identify seasonal trends or compare follow-on offering terms for issuers that listed through de-SPAC transactions versus traditional IPOs.
  • Track underwriter and advisor participation: Compare syndicate compositions across transactions involving a specific private equity sponsor, including participating ECM advisors, auditors and legal counsel to issuers and underwriters.

Existing Entitlements Carry Over

The DataLab MCP server provides read-only access, uses OAuth 2.0 for user authentication and respects each client's DataLab entitlements. Use of CMG data through the server remains subject to each client's DataLab agreement.

Built on an open standard, the server is designed to support MCP-compatible AI tools and frameworks, giving clients the flexibility to incorporate ECM data into their existing AI workflows without being tied to a single provider.

Availability

The DataLab MCP server is currently available in early access to select DataLab clients, with broader availability planned. CMG plans to extend access to additional AI platforms over time.

Clients interested in participating in the early-access program can contact their CMG representative or sales@cmgx.io. To learn more, visit cmgx.io.
